upgrade from WD Acronis to Acronis 2021
I have been using the WD version of Acronis. I have purchased Acronis 2021, and am wondering what the upgrade procedure is. Can I just install 2021, or do I need to uninstall the WD supplied components.

Gary, can you tell what actual version of ATI your WD edition is? Does it say the year in the title of the app when it is launched or does it just say ATI for WD (along the top left border)?
The other place you can check is in the log files from your backup tasks which will show the version as a 2 digit number, i.e. ATI 2021 is version 25, 2020 = 24, 2019 = 23, 2018 = 21 then descending numbers for the earlier versions.
If the ATI for WD main Setting panel in the GUI offers the option (at the bottom of the panel) to Backup / export your task configuration settings to a zip file, then use this option!
If the version number is 23 or lower, then I agree with Ian that it would be best to uninstall the OEM ATI version then do a clean install of 2021. You should be able to Import your backup configuration from the zip file to see if your tasks still look as expected.

Hello Steve,
When I load 'True Image for Western Digital', and open the 'About' window it reports:
Acronis True Image for Western Digital
version 2021 build 39197
Also when I load the program there is an 'upgrade' option.
I have already purchased 2021. I am thinking that I should be able to run the new 'stand alone' Acronis 2021 full program without any transition problems. Do you agree?
Thanks for your input
Gary

Gary, given your WD version is already based on 2021 then I cannot see any reason not to just do an upgrade by installing the full ATI version. The only possible gotcha will be if the installer decides that you already have a later version installed with build 39197 versus 39124 for the full ATI version???
