Upgraded to 2021 - wanted perpetual version but got subscription instead

Thread needs solution

I received an email offering discount on 2021 upgrades. I thought I was getting perpetual licenses like I have always had but got subscription instead. Can these be changed? If not I will discontinue use of the product.

Robert, if your upgrade is within 30-days, then you can get a full refund from Acronis, especially if the email offer has misled you about getting a perpetual upgrade but delivered a subscription instead!  You can ask Acronis to transfer the license from being subscription to perpetual if you prefer.

You need to contact Acronis directly as described in How to get support?

Apparently the word Perpetual is misleading.  It means that you have a perpetual license to a single year's version of ATI, NOT that you get annual upgrades to the then-current version year after year without paying any more.

Perpetual in the context of ATI  simply means 'Buy once and use it for as long as it works and the version of Windows it is used with supports it."

Upgrades to perpetual versions are available during the period that that version is in support, i.e. normally for 1 year from the date it was released to the general public.
