Use True Image On Demand Only

Thread solved

How do I use True Image on demand? Meaning I don't want anything Acronis starting up with Windows at all. When I want to image my boot drive I will launch the application. I disabled the Scheduler and TIB mounter in "Startup" but still seeing a ton of items in Services that I can't disable.

Dan, you should be able to disable the services in the Services app. How are you trying to do so that isn't working for you?

Okay I was finally able to disable them. Looks like they stay stopped until I run it. Should be able to live with that.

Dan, I've done a lot of experimenting with these services. There are a few things to watch for.

1. While you can set Active Protection and Cyber Protect services to disabled, they can get automatically enabled again. Check after running the UI and after reboots. I believe if the Agent Core service is also disabled, that may not be the case.

2. If you disable the Agent Core service, you should also disable the Scheduler service. Otherwise, there can be constant attempts to run scheduled update tasks and that can generate thousands of failure log entries.

Keep a watch on the services to see what may get started behind your back. Let us know how it's working over the long haul.

Thanks. Yes, I tested. When I run the app it brings the services back up to running but then after a reboot they're stopped so I'm good. The app does bring up an error when you run it before it finally opens the UI, probably just waiting for services to start.
