Vulnerability alert - Weather

Thread needs solution

My up-to-date Acronis True Image 2021 install on OS X Big Sur (also patched up-to-date) is giving me a vulnerability warning, but instead of a valid CVE it shows as below.

Any ideas what this is?

Sorry, cannot help. I only use Windows - you may get more timely assistance in the Mac ATI forum - Acronis True Image for Mac Forum.

The .APK files are Android device files for a Weather app.  These all have location and various other access to devices at a low level and therefore trigger detection as a vulnerability.

In general have a look for a newer version of the Weather app.  If one is available then install it.   Once installed replace your Android backup with a new backup and see if that resolves the issue.

If an update is not available you can set an exception for the Weather app as a Trusted process to suppress the warning.

Hi,

Thanks for the response.

To be honest, the True Image vulnerability alert makes no sense. I don't have any Android backups on my Mac running OS Big Sur 11.4, nor are there any .APK files on the Mac hard drive (as you said, those are for Android).

Not a great advert for Acronis's Cyber Protect credentials to be honest. I raised a support call and, so far, they've been absolutely useless.

Do you have an Android device of some sort?  Does anyone who has access to your network have one?  Seems awfully odd that you are getting this warning without having such a device on your network.
