Why is True Image putting a huge .tibx file on my C: drive?

Thread needs solution

My C: drive backup's destination is a folder on my Synology NAS. It puts the backup there, but it is also putting a huge 150GB C.tib file on the C drive, itself.

It's an SSD, and each time it does this, it's shortening the life of the drive, not to mention, filling it up.

Why is this happening?

The time I have seen this type of issue being reported in the forums was due to network problems that prevented the backup from writing correctly to the NAS destination!

I have never seen this happen with any of my own PC's backing up to my Synology NAS so have no explanation for why it happens.  The backup task should fail with an error and not put the backup on your C: drive!

I would recommend raising this issue direct with Acronis as per How to get support? and provide them with an Acronis System Report so that they can investigate why this is happening?

Not only will it wear out your SSD (not as much a factor these days than a few years ago) but it also will result in a monstrous backup file, because it backs up you C drive, and the erroneous backup file on it.  It definitely should error out if there is a network hiccup.

Sorry but disagree with the statement about a monstrous backup file - Acronis excludes all .tib & .tibx files by default from being included in backups!
