Acronis true Image Echo workstation - does not clone?

Thread needs solution

using True Image Echo WS with Universal Restore on WinXP, I am trying to clone the HDD with the system partition.
old HDD is 80 GB and contains system Partition plus some other data partitions.
New HDD is 500 GB and empty (no partitions)
both are SATA
I select "clone", "manual", select the old and the new HDD, "save old data", "make new partitions same size as originals", it shows me graphic of both correct, then shows a correct task list, then tells me it will restart, does that and upon restart shows text like Analyzing - Testing...all 100%.
after that a long sermon, explaining it has finished the cloning ok and I should remove the old diskand hit any key to turn the computer off.
However, it has done nothing.
The new disk is as empty as before, and upon restart into Windows it does not continue working.
I have tried it several times, and the result is always the same.
What have I missed?
thanks for help

Hello Lembit,

Thank you for posting and welcome to the forum. I will definitely help you with resolving this issue.

Most likely it is caused by another USB device connected to your machine. Would you be kind enough to check the following KB article for the solution.

Looking forward to your reply and if you have additional questions please let me know.

Thank you.
