Acronis Tue Image Echo Workstation build 8,018 boot problems

We have a new PC. We want to transfer all of our files over to the new PC. I have tried 2 different ways of doing this. Niether will boot. I tried using clone by mounting the new HD in the old one and transfering all the files over. Once I copy the files and take the HD to my new computer, the screen says too many hardware changes and won't boot in regular mode or safe mode. Next, I tried the file backup but it asks for a windows registration and won't boot. I think it copied the windows from my old PC over and replaced the OP system and since I do not have that SN, I cannot boot. Did I do it wrong? What I am looking to do is copy all of my files from our old PC including setting and run them on a new PC.
