Backup with Echo Server 9.1 takes too long

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I'm running Acronis True Image Echo Server 9.1 for Windows on Windows Server 2008. I backup three partition with a complete size of 500GB. I want to backup that on a external Windows XP Server with Gigabit Network Interface.

Now, my problme is that the backup takes long time. I set the compress type to Normal and backup priority to high. The details window show me a remaining time of 5 hours up to 5 days.

Is that normal? What can I do to analyze why it's take so long? I disabled already the virus scanner but it doesn't help either. Windows XP uses SMB protocol in Version 1.0 (1.1?). That can't handle gigabit network speed, but does this really care?
