Can I back up a WIN NT Server remotely? If so, what version of True Image?

Thread needs solution

Hi everyone,

New to the forum.

OK, I have some what I hope will be basic questions.

I have a mish mash of WIN NT Server and Win 2003 Server Servers all on the same domain.

1. Can any versions of True Image back up another server (on the same domain) remotely?

2. If I load True Image x.x on the Win 2003 server, can this back up remote Win NT servers that are on the domain?

By backup, I mean image, whereby worst case scenario of HDD failure I can just pop in the Restore CD and reload the image.

Also, I realise I can load True Image 9.1 Server onto the Windows NT servers. But I don’t want to do this because I’m not allowed to restart any of the Windows NT servers. So remote backup seems to be the best solution if it possible.

Any help advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Ric

2) - no, for image backup you need it to be run (installed or from bootable media) on the machine.

OK, thanks for letting me know.

Looks like i'm going to have to arrange some downtime for the NT servers. I also noticed Acronis 9.1 is the last edition to run on Win NT. It also needs, service pack 6; I see my NT servers are SP 5.

So 2 restarts needed.....I hope there is no blue screen of death.....
