Cannot backup SATA drive on Optiplex 780 with Acronis True Image Echo 9.1 Build 3887

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I am a Desktop Support technician and I am unable to successfully run a backup of a SATA HD on a Dell Optiplex 780. When I boot to Acronis, I only see a 250 MB FAT 32 partition for the C drive. This drive is categorized as a Dynamic or GPT volume by Acronis. However, the C drive also has an NTFS partition that is 465 GB. This is NOT detected by Acronis. I have checked the Drive settings in the BIOS and the drive is set to RAID Auto detect / ATA. Do the drive settings in the BIOS need to be switched to RAID Auto detect / AHCI? Is this is an issue with the version of Acronis that I am using? Thank you for any assistance that you can provide.

Sincerely,

Andrew

Hello Andrew,

Welcome to our Forum, it's nice to have you with us. I understand your concern, and will do my best to assist you.

Please note that Acronis True Image 9.1 is an outdated product: it's not developed, supported, and updated anymore, so we cannot guarantee that it will work with modern hardware.

The issue looks to be related to the SnapAPI drivers glitch. We can try resolving it by installing the update. I will send you the link to install the update in a minute via Private Message.

In case it still doesn't work there's nothing else we will be able to do, except suggest you to test Acronis Backup and Recovery solution. You can find the demo versions here, as well as all the Installation and User's Guides available here.

Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!

Thank you!
