Can't restore original timestamp to root folders

Thread needs solution

Hi:

The problem is that in restoring files to a clean(ed) partition, most of the root folders all have the current time and date stamp, not the timestamps of the original image. Similarly, many if not most of the subfolders also have the current timestamps (though not all) This is even if overwrite existing files has been selected, and the restore image is reapplied.

I have been restoring files, not the whole partition (yet). And have done this from a boot CD and from launch under Windows.

Edit: Just now did a restore of the whole partition, and the original timestamps were preserved.  Required reboot, and the partitions were prepared/sized under extended overall partition separately

This problem is noted as a general problem, and the only fix I saw was to set the selections. This has not solved the problem.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Hello Roy!

Welcome to our Forum, it's nice to have you among us! I completely understand your concern and will be glad to help you!

Thank you for the detailed description of the issue, it helped a lot. Most probably the timestamps are assigned incorrectly due to "Set current date and time for the restored file" function. It is availble under Additional options and enabled by default. You can find more information about it in the User's Guide, chapter 7.4.7. Could you please turn it off, perform the restoration once again, and see whether the issue persists?

I would also like to mention that the build you're using is an outdated one, and I'd advise you to install the latest one is 8398. I would adivse you to register your product license to your account here and download the latest build from here. After that please remove the previous build from the machine and install the new one. It has several major issues fixed and reported to be more stable.

I would appreciate if you could keep me posted regarding this issue. This will ensure me that I have the latest information about the problem, and can provide you with further assistance, if required.

Should you have any additional questions - please, don't hesitate to share them with us, we will be happy to address every concern!

Thank you!

P.S. Should you have problems with finding the product license or the account it is registered to - let me know, I will be glad to help you with it!

Hi:

(lost my previous comment when I tried to respond to your suggestion to update to latest build)

Sorry I was not clear on what I had done. I have indeed disabled the (default) selection "Set current date and time for the restored file". That was the ambiguous reference in my comment "the only fix I saw was to set the selections" Sorry for the inconvenience.

I will look into upgrading to a later build.

Thank you again for your help.
