Cloning SATA Disk

Thread needs solution

I had cloned a 160GB SATA HD, with Windows Vista Home Basic, to a new one IDE of 320GB. I am using Acronis True Image Workstation® version 9.1 (build 3,887). Everything seems to go fine, Acronis setup the process in 3 steps. Frist one to clone Partition D (Windows Vista Home Basic Recovery partition), then step two to clone partition C system data and finally, partition E Files and programs. It takes about 25 minutes for the whole process to complete. Then I turn down the computer, disconnect the SATA Hard Drive and reboot. And Guess what? Did not boot at all. I got a startup menu with Windows Vista but it says that there is a file missing on \windows\system32.
So I think I cloud recover that installation using windows vista recovery tools, booting from de CD. This is what I am going to do to see what happens. The thing is that I was able to clone before using the same Acronis software over Windows XP computers, so I think this a new Vista Add-on.
If anyone has an idea I will appreciate
Thanks

It Works! This issue had already been resolve. In fact booting from de Windows Vista CD and selecting the option “System Recovery” works fine. It detects some corrupted files and replaces them. Now I am working with a bigger hard drive (320Gb) and everything is the same. Windows Vista is working fine as well as MS Office 2010 and al my image, music, and documents file are in place no damage at all. Now I am happy. The conclusion is Acronis True Image Workstation ver 9 can be used to clone hard drives from a smeller one to a biggest one without a problem.

Thanks
