E00040003: Error writing the file AND E00070004: Failed to write data to the archive file on 2TB USB 3.0 Ext Disk!?

Thread needs solution

Dear all,
Just installed a new WD 2TB USB 3.0 with its controller on a Windows 2003 Ent Server with SP2. I cannot seems to create backups and keep receiving two errors:

E00040003: Error writing the file.
Please press Retry to try again or press Cancel to cancel the operation and stop.

E00070004: Failed to write data to the archive file.
A possible reason might be poor media quality.

I got the latest build yesterday: Acronis® True Image Echo Server® (build 8,398)

Any ideas? This is super annoying?

Thanks.

Hello BST IT Alerts,

Thank you very much for your post. I will definitely help you with this.

According to the error message, it appears that our software has difficulty accessing your backup location. We do not support USB 3.0 interface in Acronis True Image Echo Server for Windows, but as a workaround you can try using USB 2.0. Please check page 10 of our User Guide for additional information.

If you have a valid support license, you can upgrade to the next version of our corporate software which is called Acronis Backup and Recovery 10 Server for Windows which has USB 3.0 support.

If you have additional questions or require further assistance, please let me know.

Thank you.
