E00040011: SPECIFIED FILE DOES NOT EXIST

Thread needs solution

We are using Acronis True Image Echo Server (Build 8,115)

Receiving error message when i try to manually or schedule a task to backup my data: "E00040011: SPECIFIED FILE DOES NOT EXIST".

I cancel the operation and receive this error message: "E00070004: FAILED TO WRITE DATA TO THE ARCHIVE FILE. A POSSIBLE REASON MIGHT BE POOR MEDIA QUALITY".

We are backing up to a usb storage device. I can browse the other backups and create folders. So reading and writing to the storage device is not a problem.

Thank you.

Hello Guadalupe Flores,

Thank you for finding time to join us and report about the issue, I really appreciate it, and will be glad to help you.

First of all please note, that you're using the outdated build of the software, and we strongly recommend that you update your version.

If the problem remains after the update, we will need to localize the exact cause of the problem. Could you cause, please, do the following:

  1. Decrease HDD Writing Speed in Backup Options -> Backup Performance.
  2. If the issue remains, re-plus the USB drive to another port, and go to Start -> Run -> cmd, then issue there the following command:
    chkdsk /f /r
    and reboot the machine

Upon booting the machine will perform a disk checking, which will find and fix the bad blocks and file system errors if any. Should the issue remain even after these steps, please gather the following data:

  1. Acronis Info from the machine in question?
  2. Acronis Report
  3. Screenshot of the issue
  4. Windows System Information

and open a support request with the data attached, and let us know it's number.

Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!

Thank you!
