Echo Server hangs file server

Thread needs solution

Just withing the last 3 or 4 weeks I have had Echo Server lock up and/or hang six different servers. They are essentially dead. The only recourse is to turn the power off to the server and power it back on. To have this happen to six different servers at about the same time is too much of a coincidence for me.

I am backing up to external USB hard drives. All are Windows 2003 Servers. The only thing I can think is that Microsoft has come out with some updates that aren't playing nice with Echo Server and/or external USB hard drives.

Anyone else having these issues?

I'm having these issues too.

I have 15 TI servers and all are now stalling 2-3 times a week. Its a lot of work fixing as a graceful shutdown doesn't work and only a reset seems to clear the issues.

So, also looking for suggestions.

The forums seem to intimate that upgrading the snapapi might help, and I'm waiting for a reply to a pm to get a copy.

Would love a solution as upgrading 15 servers to the latest version is not possible at this time.
