Email Notification test is Ok, but still no mail after Backup !

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I'm using ATI ECHO Workstation v9.5 buil 8163.

The e-mail test notification is Ok, but after a backup, no notification is send (no errors in ATI log or in Windows events)

Because test notification is Ok, it is not a firewall, network or smtp problem !
=> Why ATI don't notify me when backup finish ? (sucessful backup or not...)

Thanks.

I like to clarify that this happens randomly on several computers in a fleet of 20 PC (XP SP3 with ATI Echo v9.5 buil 8163) :
=> still impossible to have the notification after backup, even if the test message is ok !

Hello Laurent,

Thank you for your post. I will definitely help you.

At the moment it is not clear why this issue could occur, just in case, I would recommend to update to the latest build and check this short tutorial for setting up e-mail notifications in Acronis software.

With your current build, would it be possible to setup e-mail notifications for a gmail account to localize the issue?

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.

Hello,

http://kb.acronis.com/content/1531 is Ok because e-mail notification is well sent !

My problem is that notification is not send after a schedule backup !

Thanks.

I've tried to install ATI wkw directly on the PC client (not only trought console with Acronis Agent)... and this time I obtain "Cannot send test e-mail. The possible reason might be incorrect e-mail settings."

When I go back on my server and launch Acronis Console, e-mail notification test is Ok
=> so, I think e-mail notification test TROUGHT Acronis Console does'nt really send e-mail FROM pc client (with Acronis Agent) but really trought server !

That's it : I've look up at e-mail header and found that the mail was launch trought the PC where Acronis Console is installed,
instead of being sent directly from the PC where the agent is installed...

Ok... found the problem... I've try to send mail via "mailto.exe" and found that there where a "relay denied" problem... in fact, the PC what configured with wrong gateway and I didn't see it :-(((
