External hard drive not recognized by boot media

Thread needs solution

I successfully created a bootable USB pen drive with Acronis True Image Echo Workstation. I want to use it to backup all partitions of my Asus EeeePC 1021PN netbook to an external USB hard drive drive. The USB pen drive boots successfully in the netbook and Acronis menus show up fine. The problem is that when the screen prompting the target location to store the backups shows up, it does not include the external USB drive connected to the netbook (as if it were disconnected) . I tried this with all USB ports available to the netbook, and even with the USB drive turned on before powering the netbook without success. How can I fix this? Thanks.

The Build number of Acronis True Image Echo Workstation is 8163

Hello Marcus,

Welcome to the forum and thank you for posting. I will definitely help you with this.

Most likely the bootable media components that you are using do not have the necessary drivers to detect your device. In a few minutes I will send you a private message with the latest build of the software.

If you have additional questions, please let me know.

Thank you.
