Failover System with True Image Echo Enterprise Server Build 8
Hi Folks,
Im looking for a way to backup our primary physical Server Host (W2008) to an external NAS and having a passive secondary Server prepared to recieve & load the latest Backup from the NAS in case that the primary Server fails. Unlikely I cannot setup a preferred VWMARE/ESX/MS-Cluster/Load-Balancer solution - due to amount of invest. So I've gone back through my possibilities and Im looking for a way to expand and finetune my basic Backup System, so that I can restore and bring up the secondary passiv Server with a very current copy of the Primary Server.
I hope this Idea has some potential and that I can start with a manuall restore and optimize to become more automatic. Im not 100% sure what the best way is to move and handle restore on the passive system. Im also thinking about alternatives: like Virtual HyperV Guests or something like a RIS;WDS Server to make the process and abiltiy of "easy" restore to the Secondary System agil and functional.
I uploaded a pic to show you how this strategie looks like in my head and hope you give can give me some help to find out possible weaknesses and talk about restore best practise.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
