Issues when Backing up Data. SQL Log Files grow quickly

Every time I ran a backup and Acronis "Locks" the Drive, my data logs for a database that I have running on MSSQL 2005 starts growing quickly and only stops after the backup is finished and I ran a truncate.

Using Acronis True Image, Build: 8,076

Any ideas?
