MFT Error 3 message after attempting Acronis True Image Echo Worstation restore
Hi,
re: Acronis True Image Echo Worstation (with Universal restore)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have just tried to do a restore partition from an archive file I have used at least 4 times, and a couple of anomolies happened.
The first was that TI stated it needed to do a reboot to make the restore work. This it has never done before.
The second was that a 'MFT Error 3' message appears briefly at boot up.
I have two drives : C is in four W7 ultimate partitions, and D is in 3 XP Pro partitions.
Until now I have had NO problems backing up either the W7 or XP partitions.
The error occurred when trying to restore an XP partition from the first XP partition on the second drive to the third XP partition on the second drive. (as stated - previously did not need a reboot)
Each partition is bootable, and each XP poartition has TI and Disk Director installed.
Objective
I would like to find out :
1. How to remove the error message on the W7 bootable C drive (First drive, first partition)
2. How to restore the second partition from the file on the first partition of the second drive.
Rather than guessing, trying out boot duisks etc, I thought I'd ask here first.
Any ideas or help appreciated
Pete
