Problems with snapapi26 module compilation

Thread needs solution

Sorry for my english in advance.

Following the instructions for install the snapapi module.

I download the snapapi26_modules-0.7.47-1.noarch.rpm file and I try to install it.

I execute rpm -Uvh "packet" succesfully.
I execute dkms ldtarball --archive /usr/lib/Acronis/kernel_modules/snapapi26-0.7.47-all.tar succesfully too.

I have the problem whith the dkms build.
I try to execute:
dkms build -m snapapi26 -v 0.7.47

And the system answer: Error! Your source for kernel 2.6.18-128-el5 cannot be found at
/lib/modules/2.6.18-128.el5/build or /lib/moules/2.6.18-128-el5/source.
You can use the --kernelsourcedir option to tell DKMS where it`s located.

I try to give multiples direction for the --kernelsourcedir but always have the same error.
can you help me,please?

Welcome to our Forum, we're glad you've joined us! I understand the issue and will be glad to help you.

It's hard to say for sure, but looks like the gcc version of snapapi differs from the one that was used in the system kernel, but it's hard to say for sure. I'd suggest you to try the solution described in this article.

Should the issue persists, please gather System Linux Report, the error and contact support directly with the information attached. Keep in mind that should there be any procrastination with the reply, you can always specify us the case number. We will do our best to speed up the process.
