Server 2003 R2 + AVG Server + Acronis True Image Echo Server for Windows

Had a server that got infected. We rebuilt it, installed AVG2011 server, got virus resolved. Install Acronis True Image Echo Server for Windows, rebooted computer. BSOD 0x0000007e. System will boot info safe mode successfully. Ran AVG uninstall while in safe mode which removed most but not all of AVG. Rebooted into normal mode, ran poorly. Back into safe mode, disabled AVG Watchdog service. Rebooted and system came up fine. Any idea why AVG and this version of Acronis do not want to play ball together?
