Service error occurs

Thread needs solution

Hi,
i installed on a server with SBS 2003 Acronis True Image Server. After restart the server following error occurs at the services:

Scheduler is unable to run task with GUID 'E8EB23E7-2D44-49CD-BDBA-301B0BD1C9E3' because of error 2 (Failed to find the file (folder) or the key (value) in the registry.).

Welcome to our Forum, and thank you for finding time to join us! I entirely understand your concern and will be glad to assist you.

This looks like a scheduler glitch: usually this error appears when there are some traces of deleted tasks left in the registry.

I would suggest you to update it in order to resolve the issue. Please follow the below instrustions:

  1. Download Acronis Scheduler Manager. Open command prompt (Start -> Run -> cmd); run schedmgr.exe and issue the following command:
    task zap
    This will erase all traces of the tasks.
  2. Update Scheduler as mentioned in this article
  3. Reboot the machine
  4. Recreate the tasks

This should resolve the issue faced. Should it persist, please provide us with Acronis Info from machine in quesiton.

I get the same error with True Image Home 2011 (Build 6942) /Windows 7 Professional SP1 almost every minute !
Would you recommend exactly the same procedure for this environment ?
