True Image echo running slow!

Thread needs solution

Hi all,

Have acronis true image echo enterprise running on a windows server 2008 fileserver. It has about 2terabytes to backup and i am using the full backup/overwrite old full backup method. Each full backup takes a long time to complete. Sometimes it is 3days+ and can stretch to close to a week.

Any ideas?

It is backing up onto a backup server that is over a gigabit network and i tested the network speed to not be an issue as it transferred 400megs in a couple of secs.

I have tried running Acronis backup and recovery 10 on windows server 2008 r2 on the same server and it still was the same slow speed.

So now the server is simply running windows server 2008 with true image echo - still slow.

Any help much appreciated.

To reiterate.
-Server has had two different OS versions loaded on with different acronis and it's slow
-Network speed has been tested to be running fast
-I have put it to high priority mode and it made no difference
-It is on the normal default compression level

Slow backup speeds can be caused by a number of factors. I would appreciate if you could take a look at this KB article that has a troubleshooting guide for low backup speeds.
