Write error 0x70004 after backup of about 10GB ... to NAS (backup server)

The backup starts and successfully splits the files into chunks about 2GB in size. However after about 10GB of data storage the backups suddenly fails with this error message (sorry, it's German, but I think you'll see the error ...).

Acronis True Echo Workstation.

Backup Server runs on a Windows SBS 2003 server.
Computer running the backup is a XP Professional Client.
Data Storage is on a QNAP NAS system. Normal backups do work, however, to avoid manual cleaning of the file space I'd prefer backups to the backup server ...
