2 backup locations Daily weekly

Ok, I searched the data base and the forum, if I missed it sorry, here's the question:
I run a daily system backup on a local drive, and a weekly on an external. When reviewing the weekly external files, it apears they have the daily backups as well. I ONLY plug the external in once a week, and made sure the source path does NOT include the internal daily target drive. Does the new version TI2010 search out the internal daily system backup files and incorporate them into the weekly backup? I didn't see this when running TI2009.

Update: Really strange, Local drive full, Could not delete files while external was plugged in. After rebooting w/ no external, deleted backup files on local disk. Rebooted with external plugged in, opened explorer, went to G:/ (external) and small explorer window poped up: Locate the volume with the number 1. I hit cancel. Then #2, 3, all the way to 42. Now I see the directory structure, but cannot access the files. Asks for the location of volume 1-42 again.
