Same situation. Bought 2009 on Aug 28. , now, 3 weeks later there's a new one....
DO they have a 30-day free update/upgrade??

Well, it is only just past the middle of September so there is still a few days left before the 30-day deadline.

Within 30 days you can also request a refund on your original purchase. I'd try both avenues and see if Acronis comes through on either. If it comes through on either, then you'll have or can buy version 13/2010 (all for the prices of one version) if having ATI is still what you want. But be sure to make the initial contact within 30 days and save documentation of it.

Dmitry, I requested a 2009-2010 upgrade four days on 11/04/09. Purchased 2009 from cleverbridge, Inc. on 09/08/09, so I assume I qualify. How log does it usually take for "Acronis Customer Central." to respond to such upgrade authorizations?
Thanks!
Mick

I have the same problem. I have been inquiring about the promised free upgrade to Acronis 2010 , without any luck. Am I contacting the wrong company or website?

It's the purchase date which needs to be no earlier than 30 days preceeding the release date.
I believe you could still claim the free upgrade now if you have proof of purchase.

Hello all,
Nizar, let me help you with this situation. I have checked our database and found one Acronis True Image Home 2010 copy registered under your account. It was registered per the same date as your post: 2009-12-15. So it looks like the license you mentioned.
However, please do not hesitate to contact us if you need any further assistance, we would be glad to help you.

I don't think Acronis was sincere when they made that post. It is not mentioned anywhere else on their site. They operate like that...

Acording the Acronis web site, it appears that Acronis's policy re ATI 2011 is that it will offer a discount for those that bought a nondiscounted ATI2010 from an authorized source within 30 days of the release of ATI2011.
It seems those with an earlier version can upgrade for about $30 while those that very recently pruchase ATI2010 can upgrade for $10.

Hello Alok, Marc and Scott!
Thank you for your comments and help!
Dear Alok, I regret to inform you that free upgrade normally is provided in 30 days after purchase period, so should you've purchase the product in October, you will have to purchase the upgrade as well.
All users who purchased Acronis True Image Home 2010 between July 23 2010 - Aug 23 2010 at full retail price without discounts, via our official resellers*, official online stores and authorized retailers* are eligible to receive the product upgrade free of charge. To receive the upgrade, you should make an inquiry to Acronis Customer Central. Please have your proof of purchase ready. List of official Acronis Resellers can be found at Acronis Resellers Locator.
Customers who purchased from an online store between July 23 2010 - Aug 23 2010 will receive a discounted upgrade offering via email. This is a confusing moment in the Upgrade policy, so I'll try to shed some light to the situation:
Not long ago before the Acronis True Image Home 2011 release our Sales team implemented the discount for the full version of Acronis True Image Home 2010, which we normally don't do. This promo discount lasted from July 23 to August 24 (release date). For all the Customers who purchased the product with the discount we sent an offer to upgrade to Acronis True Image Home 2011 for around $10.
So in both scenarios:
a) you purchased discounted Acronis True Image Home 2010 + upgrade 2011 (which is not the must, you can still use 2010 version, it's still fully supported)
b) you decided to wait for the new version and purchased Acronis True Image Home 2011 full version
the final price will be absolutely the same.
In case you didn't receive a message with the link to the discounted upgrade, please let me know via PM - I will be glad to help you with it.
You can find more details about Upgrade policy here.
I would also like to notify you that you're opinion and questions regarding Acronis True Image Home 2011 upgrade policy is very important for us. We would like to have all this information stored in one place - it will allow us to address your concerns in a timely manner. So we would appreciate if you could refer with all your concerns and feedback to the Main Upgrade Discussion Thread.
Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!
