2010 Home is so slow

Thread needs solution

I upgraded to Acronis Home 2010 last Dec. I am very dissappointed to find it so, unacceptably, slow. Even the GUI is pathetically slow. I'm sure that others must have reported this before me so can anyone point me to the solution to these problems. many thanks

Hello R Starkey,

Thank you for posting here and I will definitely help you with this.

There are many reasons why the program is slow on your computer. It could depend on a specific hardware configuration, software environment and other factors.

Did you uninstall the previous version of Acronis software that you have prior to installing the new one? Can you please make sure that you have the latest build of Acronis True Image 2010 Home installed, the latest one is 6053. Can you kindly tell me what Operating System you are using?

Could you please let me know of your steps, at what point the program starts to get slow? You can also send me a PM with AcronisInfo attached and I will try to determine the cause of this slowdown.

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.

I've also noticed a slow down in performance of several programs since upgrading to the 2010 version of Backup and Security. I run Windows Vista Home Edition (patched to recent build) and version 13.0.18 of the software.

My PC is a Dell Studio 15 laptop with Intel Core 2 Duo CPU P8400 with 3GB ram.

As noted above my system performance has notably reduced since the install of 2010 Backup & Security. I uninstalled other antivirus software (AVG) prior to the install of the program (including the removal of an older version of Acronis backup).

I'm at the point now where I will soon be removing the 2010 version and going back to an older version of the software and AVG anti-virus to get my system back to its former performance.

Can you offer any guidance, are there any patches due out to improve system stability?

Regards

Paul - your experience relates to Backup & Security, not Backup & Recovery - they are different. For your particular problem, based on my experience uninstallation is the best way to go.
