2012 - Delete tibs but don't delete task

Thread needs solution

Hi

I have a task in ATI 2012 that performs an incremental backup weekly - I want to delete all the old backups and start again, but I don't want to delete the task itself - I keep reading not to just delete the tib files in explorer but can't find any other way of doing it...

What's the trick?

From inside the task, RIGHT CLICK on the RECOVER option and choose Recovery Files.
From the newly opened window, in upper left corner, click on the "disk and partitions" tab.
All your files should be listed along the bottom margin of the scrren.
Right click on each file to be deleted and choose delete.

Thanks Grover - totally forgot about this!

All worked as you suggested except for the first/initial file which doesn't seem to have a delete option in it's context menu.

Does that one require a different operation?

Cheers

I am not sure but I believe if you delete the full, the task will delete as well.

what I would do is to open the scripts folder where the task is stored and make a copy of the specific task and store the copy elsewhere.

Then open TrueImge and click inside the task and choose the delete option. This will delete both the task and the backup.

After the delete, close TI and then paste the script back into the scripts folder.
The task will then appear on you listing the next time you open TrueImage.

Frankly, all that is more trouble than its worth. I would just delete and create a new task.

That's a pain - the task itself is quite complex with lots of exclusions, so recreating it would be a) tedious and b) prone to operator failure so it looks like the cut & paste is going to be less troublesome... but still seems to be a major design flaw.

Thanks
