2012 - A Major Step Backward for Acronis

Thread needs solution

I have used Acronis for years, so when they announced 2012 with Sync, I upgraded.
What a disappointment.

PROS: Nice interface, the backup program works.

CONS: The sync is EXTREMELY Slow, and requires a monthly subscription to Acronis online. (first month is free). EVERY sync is also recorded online - a MAJOR SECURITY RISK in my opinion.
My entire computer slowed to a crawl. Win7 x64, quad core, 9GB ram. Remember, I had been using TIH 2011, and it ran great.
Found that I had to disable Real Time Backup, which is installed and activated by default. No way to disable sync without going into Services.msc and the firewall software to block it.

I hope that Acronis starts offering a product WITHOUT the Sync, OR more user controls so the items not wanted can be uninstalled.

I tried Windows Backup & Restore, but Acronis had disabled that, so more work to fix that. Feeling upset that Acronis had pulled a tricky Marketing ploy to get more money at my expense, I now am running Norton Ghost v15. Fast, does what Acronis should do like TIH 2011 without disabling any Windows features. I need a very reliable backup without messing up my computer. It is my livelihood. Acronis - get your act together.
