2013 Plus Pack and MBR to UEFI

Thread needs solution

I have a 4 year old PC running Win 7 that is failing. I want to buy a new PC and use Universal Restore with the TI 2013 Plus Pack to move the image to the new PC.

The old PC uses the MBR BIOS and the new UEFI. Is this possible? If so, how? Are the any trick or gotcha's that I need to be aware of?

Thanks

You should first do a full backup of your new system hard disk using the Acronis recovery CD, including all partitions on the system disk.
Then, try this:
- restore the C:\ system partition only using Universal Restore onto the new C:\system
- boot on the Windows installation DVD,
- repair the startup of the computer,
- try to boot.

That could work, but I have to say that combining a universal restore and the change of disk layout is a lot of change. If I were you, I would reinstall my apps on my new system and just move the content.
