hi I have the 2013 version which now for the first time i want to tue to restore a drive. this drive is backed up daily to a second internal hdd and but when i go to restore from this drive to the c drive i get a message cannot find version one.

if i look in the back up hdd under my backups, my partitions there are all the daily backups and the lastest one is called My partitions_inc_b1_s141_v1 so why does thie software say it can't find version 1 ?

My partitions_full_b1_s1_v1
The above is the file the volume 1 file is looking for which is the foundation of the backup.

The inc that you have are only the changes that have occurred since the foundation was created.

In order for any of the files displayed in your capture to be usable, you must all the the backups as above plus all 002-114 missing incremental. None can be missing within the numbering sequence betwees s1 to s141.

For future use, I suggest you begin a new backup task and set the backup scheme to automatic deletion so you will not face the same disaster in the future.

The incremental type backups require all to be present (from creation) in order for any more recent to be recovered. The diff type backup does not have such requirements.

GH12. Create Custom Incremental Backup Scheme. 6 Inc, Keep 4 chains.

GH13. Create Custom Differential Backup Scheme. 2 Diff, Keep 2 chains.

GH5. How to delete backup files using Acronis Backup 'Explorer'

please can some one explain what these number signify?

dif_b2_s2_v1
full_b2_s1_v1

full is obviously full back up and diff the differential next one,

but why b2 and not b1? s1 is the first in a the sequence is that correct ?

am i correct that s1 must be present to restore ?

what is v1?
