2015 Restore: CORRUPT RECOVERY

Thread needs solution

Well, in addition to the issues specific to the BitLocker configured system (not OS drive); Acronis appears to have done it to me again.

Something (probably not Acronis - though this can't be ruled out) had corrupted my NTUSER.DAT file(s). This was evident when I created a new user profile for a family member and the system was unable to log on with the new profile (Error triggered: User Profile Service service failed logon.)

As I attempted to work through this, up to and including using my Win 7 recovery options to "Repair" my system, it suddenly decided to tell me I didn't have the right version of the OS on my system. This was brand new to me, so I started once again trying to figure this all out and found that the issue stems from a corrupt/damaged MBR.

Well, finally, I had to resort to the restore from my two day old backup of the OS, and low and behold, Acronis thinks my OS drive is a GPT configured devices. Why??? Because for what ever reason, 2015 fails to be up to date with the use of UEFI(?)/UFEI(?). This found out again through hours of research.

Why we would be hit with this obscure and buried issue, is not known. It was not this way before 2015.

Yet here we are again. Now my system won't boot after power down (it will after disk restore). My BIOS appears correct and w/o issue.

What really appears out of alignment, and after reading a lot of posts, Acronis appears to have let the ball drop so badly that even their Commercial customers are suffering.

1) 2015 has a fundamental architectural change to the product. This causes it to fail to properly backup BitLocker configured devices.
2) 2015, with the fundamental architectural change in place, fails to even give a warning that use of UFEI will cause a lot of problems.
3) Acronis obviously failed to maintain proper quality control over their product, thereby releasing it prematurely in order to jump on the 'Cloud Bandwagon'. Inadequate understanding of the marketplace, their customers, or the execellent standards they once used has really shown that as a long time customer and believer in Acronis, my faith is shaken to its very core.

If I am ever able to get my system back on an even keel, it is highly unlikely that Acronis shall be my backup product of choice - if this lack of concern for their customers continues along with the very poor decision making in radically altering the underlying architecture of the product where a new version will invalidate and corrupt a system dependent on the prior version. One does expect that a product of this nature shall protect and preserve a customers environment from release to release. This version simply is incapable of it.

A complete reinstall shall cost me a lot of money, not to mention time! The majority of my licensed software is based on purchases where the product was downloaded, and doesn't come with a recovery disk, up to and including my OS. (Lesson learned here...)
