Abandoning Acronis TI Home
After many wasted hours, both working with this software and trying to get responses from Acronis support, I am abandoning Acronis TI Home.
If anyone from Acronis wishes for more information, I'm sure they can find my previous posts on this forum.
I have posted the following review on CNET. It's a little emotional, but that reflects my level of frustration with having bought a product that has never properly worked for me, and a support regime that puts a firewall between users and the expertise needed to solve their problems.
I hope other users have better experiences than I did.

Version: Acronis True Image Home 2010
"Specs ok. Performance terrible. Support non-existent."

Pros: Good specs, good interface (once you get the hang of it).
Cons: Unexplainable and undiagnosable problems.
Almost no support, and the support received completely fragmented, testy and unhelpful.
Crappy manuals and help guides.
Summary: I paid for this product, and I'm abandoning it. Acronis has sucked my money and hours of my life and the product has never worked properly. Having filled up my hard-drives with unexplainable masses of data (multiple redundant backups specifically not indicated by the settings) it then couldn't perform because all backup disks were full. Every rational permutation of settings was tried. Several rounds of deleting all backups, re-setting the whole lot, and starting again. Support was almost non-existent, and the few times anyone from Acronis responded to my posts on their help forum, their replies were slow, and their "help" was curt, testy, and unhelpful. And my posts made clear that I was pretty sure the problem was likely on my end, as I assumed that the right change in settings would fix all. I no longer think that's the case, however. The problem is still un-diagnosed. I am abandoning the product. In the real world, I would demand a refund. In this instance, I just want to walk away from ever having to deal with Acronis again.
