Access denied on network-folder, but only for True Image

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I'm trying to do a backup on Win 7 a network-folder like:
\\othercomputer\folder\my backups\backup\backup.tib

True Image creates the folder "backup", but then says:
"Access to the specified file is denied: \\?\UNC\\\othercomputer\folder\my backups\backup\backup.tib"

What might be the problem? I'm able to use the windows-explorer to go to this location and create a file, so why is the access denied for True Image but not for windows-explorer? And why is true image able to create a folder but no file in it?

I changed the access-rights to "everybody full access" for this network-folder, but got the same problem. Any ideas?

Martho,

Do you log on to both PC's or bypass logins? True Image requires a system that logs in.

Is the folder marked in Windows as shared?

Is True Image asking for a password?

Are both machines using the same operating system?

Thanks for your reply. Stange enough it seems it was a matter of access-rights (because I could create files as a user, but Acronis couldn't).

I have the same issue. What did you change to actually resolve it?

I also noticed that True Image 2014 created the folder on the networked ex-drive, but for some reason still gets the error message.
