Acronic True Image 2015 taking hours to uninstall

Thread needs solution

No one responded to my question about the console not opening. I attempted to repair True Image 2015, but it only gave me the uninstall option. So I started uninstall. The uninstall has been running for hours.

Windows 7 64bit operating system

How do I uninstall and reinstall Acronis if it refuses to uninstall?

Sounds like the install didn't work--could be there isn't enough info for the unistall to run properly. Should error out not keep running. -- alas.

Make a bootcd and make a backup of the disk just in case. You can donwload from acronis.com the iso for the bootcd and burn it to a cd. -- just log in and go to product updates and hunt around.

download the cleaner and run it. You can find it here along with some detailed instructions. Not as hard to use as it looks at first.

If that doens'nt work for some reason, you can try Revo uninstaller and see it will remove ATI without you're having to do it manually. IF yo need to go manual, then yo have to be very careful what you delete.

When you are all done, not necessary but I'd recommend running the free version of ccleaner.exe from
http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner

Run ccleaner, select registry, select fix everything, it will delte obsolete lines from registry--uslally jsut leftover crap from old programs or stuff current progras should have cleaned up when they exited. It is cautious; I've never had it hurt a machine.
