Acronis 11 UR fails every time...

Thread needs solution

Hi All,

Been trying for almost a week now to write the (Win7x64) HDD image from my 7 year old Toshiba laptop to a new one that came with Win10x64. Have followed Grover's tutorials to the letter but every time the system boots, I get a 0x0000007B bluescreen. I know Win7x64 drivers are available for this new laptop, thanks to the guys over at the Toshiba support forum. In fact, I actually had a clean install of Win7 loaded 2x's and managed to destroy both of them loading some drivers from inside Windows. I posted all this in a couple other forums My Digital Life (1), My Digital Life (2), and Toshiba Support. Please give them a quick scan so I don't have to retype all that...

There could be a couple issues at work here. I can point my Universal Restore to the "drivers" folder on my USB drive that has all the separately extracted folders for Win7x64 drivers, but possibly UR isn't finding the right one(s)?

When I use "Add Drive" to lay out HDD, I'm not sure how to make the little 1.5G  "Recovery Partition" at the front of the disk. Do I make a pertition ot just leave free space?

My new BIOS has UEFI (default) and CMP modes with little else, and I'm in CMP. Would the image from my 6 yo laptop be messing this up?

The frustration of this is mind-boggling! Can anyone give me some direction? Images from my 2009 Toshiba...

Russ
