Acronis 2009 - Restore issue
I am requiring some assistance with Acronis 2009. We are trying to restore from a backup we took. However everytime we go into the restore option and select the hard drive we want to restore to we get an error message saying that Acronis cant restore to a disk that has data on it, we have however wiped the drive.
We then took to using a different drive ( we have now tried four - all different makes and all different sizes ranging from 80GB to 500GB. Western digital, seagate and samsung).
The original drive was 40GB and is a sata drive.
Any help anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated, this is on a machine that is of high importance.

Try using my guide in signature link 3 below, item 1 inside that link.
If the target disk has data on, an overwrite warning is normal and should occur but not prevent a write.
One method to prevent such a warning is to use the TrueImage Tools "Add new disk" option which can be used to make the target disk "unformatted" without any partitons.
You don't say which version of Windows involved. My signature link 2 illustrates the preferrred type of backup for when restoring. 2009 will look different but the type backup you need is the all inclusive disk image backup where all partitons (including any non-lettered partitions) are included within the backup.
