Acronis 2010

Thread needs solution

I've had this work flawlessly for many years, but now I have run into a problem. I have it on a daily backup and under windows explorer I used to be able to double click on the back archive and explore it. Now it just thinks and then nothing. I am on windows 7x64 with 8gbs of ram, kentfield quad core. I've even gone into the acronis software and tried to view the archive and it says something about it failing and that I have restart acronis. I recently overwrote some files and before I start backing up stuff again, stopped the daily backup so I can retrieve them. Any help is appreciated.

Try a "repair" function. Restart the 2010 installaton program and the repair function should be offered.
This will overwrite the existing installaton with new files.

I would unijnstall 2010 and reinstall but be prepared that the archive may be lost--perhaps due to bad disk sectors or file errors.

YOu can also download the trial vesion of 2016 and try the trial without purchasing.
There is a good chance that the file will still be unreadable with a newer version
