Acronis 2010 - Backup Jobs failing due to limited disk space

Thread needs solution

There is an obvious bug with the Acronis 2010 software that gives an error stating that my system is running low on disk space and that I need to free up disk space and click continue or the ignore option. Problem is my daily backup is set to run at 4:30am when I am sleeping and after 10 mins. the application automatically cancels the backup task due to not having a response from the end user. I have the latest version of the 2010 software. Is there a hot fix for this issue? I've seen quite a few users complain about this issue and haven't seen it addressed. I am backing up my main drive C: using 120 GB or so of data to an external drive G: that has more than 500GB of free space.

Hello rjw85,

Thank you for posting and welcome to the forum. I will do my best to help you here.

As a temporary workaround until we resolve this issue you could modify error timeout settings in our software. Please check this article for more information.

I would really appreciate if you could get back to us with screenshots of your backup settings and this report.

Is the drive your are backing up to Data (F:)?

Looking forward to your reply and if you have additional questions please let me know.

Thank you.

I resolved my issue. My backup threshold settings was set higher than what the current available free space was available for my G: drive.

Thanks

rjw85,
Do also change your timeout settings. The last update to 2010 provided a much larger range of timeout options than the 10 minutes issue. Check the help section and then the timeout settings.

I also compliment you on your posting of attachments. The excess had been removed and the clarity was excellent. You displayed only what was needed. A very nice job.
