Acronis 2010 boot disc constantly rebooting

Thread needs solution

I have an older Dell Optiplex 150 I am trying to boot with an Acronis 2010 cd. The system reboots after selecting Acronis on the Acronis or Windows screen. I have tried the "quiet acpi=off noapic" idea with no change. Any assistance would be appreciated!

David,

Download the SAFE media version of TI2010 and optionally the ISO version from your account.

Install the SAFE version and then remake the rescue CD.

Select SAFE when you get to the Acronis selection menu when booted from the CD - see if this works.

If not, burn the ISO to a CD and try that one. It uses a different kernel to the standard Acronis one.

In technology terms how old is the Dell 150? Is it using Sata or IDE drives?

Makes sure you have no card readers or USB external hubs attached. It might also be worthwhile switching off any wireless accessories that the machine has.

Hello all,

Thank you for posting.

Colin, thank you for your help.

David,

I will definitely assist you.

This is a known issue in our software, please accept my apologies for the inconvenience. As a workaround I will send you a private message with a "custom" version of Acronis True Image 2010 Home boot disc that has this problem resolved.

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.

Please send the "custom" version to me also! I was (am) really agrivated that my boot disc did not work. I even tried making three different discs and none of them worked. I kept getting the msg. that there was no Config. file. I spent two hours on the phone with Microsoft-India trying to get help but the telephone volume was very low and with their accent I just could not understand most of what they were saying. I tried to get them to switch to someone in the U.S. but had no success. On the last try the connection was cut. Without the boot disc I could not recover any of my backups and have had to reformat and reinstall all my programs! I' m not a bit happy with this situation. Since this is a known problem you should send an email to your customers or at least have a post at the top of your suppport site.
