I had the same issue. Hit F2 when re-booting to enter cmos setup. Found a setting that said USB Legacy support was inactive and I activated it, saved and exited cmos. Re-booted with TI 2010 CD and ran the safe version. When doing a restore the external USB hard drive was now present and browseable.

Hope activating the USB legacy support in cmos resolves this issue for you!

By the way, I have not been able to restore by back up image successfully and am still looking for solutions after two hours of forum reading...this product should not be sold!

i'' try that - thanks - good luck with your problem - one thought can you try mounting your backup image from another PC with ATI 2010 loaded ? - trhat is how i test my archives

This review is about the previous version, True Image 11 Home. I am putting it here as a warning to other would-be buyers.

My motherboard died, and took the video card with it. After replacing both, the PC would POST and open the Windows splash screen, but then a blue screen flashed on and the PC rebooted (too fast to read the screen), and repeated the cycle until I hit the power switch. Eventually I gave up and reloaded Windows (XP Pro sp2), successfully.

Then, rather than reinstalling and reconfiguring all my programs, a several-day job, I tried to use my most recent True Image 11 Home image stored on an external USB hard drive. Trying to run it from the boot CD, and selecting the full backup image from a USB drive, I got:

"The selected partition contains the following error: run list corrupted. Please note that you cannot change the file system and size of this partition. It is recommended that you check these partitions after restoration with your operating system disk tools."

Oddly, it did offer to restore the image to the USB drive from which I was trying to read it.

On the Acronis on-line forum, I found someone else had gotten the "run list corrupted" message, and he was advised to CHKDSK c: /r on the C drive. I did so, but it did not help.

I added my problem to the thread over three weeks ago, and so far have heard back not a word. I bit the bullet a restored my PC tediously from scratch. I did NOT re-install True Image. Why bother? What good is a drive image if you can't restore it? It's like having car insurance and not being able to make a claim. I just wish I hadn't bought 3 copies for my 3 PCs. I don't know if the other 2 installations would work, but I'm not inclined to find out. A big waste of money.

stephen c,
Visit your registration page and download the iso file and burn the file to CD. This iso file has many of the new drivers for the newer hardware.

Rob,
Do you have a posting which describes your problem with TrueImage? When restoring your system drive, best results are obtained when booted from the TI Rescue CD.

Hello all,

I understand the question and will do everything possible from my side to solve the issue.

Stephen c as GroverH suggested please download ISO image based on ISOLinux from your account under registered products and create Acronis bootable disc using third-party software. ISOLINUX Bootable Media is usually more up to date than the Acronis Loader one. This is due to the fact a new version of Acronis Bootable Media is uploaded to the website more frequently than regular product updates are released.

ISOLINUX Bootable Media has several boot parameters that may help overcome possible issues with booting. You can also set a specific VGA resolution in the ISOLINUX media if there an issue with the Graphical User Interface (GUI). Check the following article for more details. I have also sent you ISO image via PM.

Francisco if I understand you correctly the internal drive is not recognized under Acronis bootable disc.Is it correct? I have sent you ISO image based on ISOLinux loader via PM too, it has better hardware support and it will certainly solve the issue.

Let me know if you need further assistance.

Thank you.

still can't see my external WD or seagate drives

nor can i do on line backups - see other threads

this piece of software is the worst i have ever bought - ACRONIS - you have lost me and my company as a customer (i have been a customer for 6 years now), if i have no faith in the backups i am doing - what is the point. If i go to restore an image - i no longer think - "wonder how long it is going to take ?" - but "Oh my god - I hope it can read the tib file or even find it " - I can't support myself or my clients that way !

- look how long it took you to even reply to this request ???
