Acronis 2013

Thread needs solution

I have installed a Kingston SSD, it was supplied with a Disk with Acronis cloning software on it.

The Disk will not Boot on switching on the computer. I get the following message "Acronis Loader Fatal error boot drive (Partition) not found.

Any suggestions Please !

Brian,
This reply will be somewhat generic as we have no way of knowing what OS you are running, etc.

If you have a full version of ATIH available, I suggest that you create a full disk image back up and use it to image your new drive. Cloning is not the best/safest way to migrate.

If cloning is your only option, I would disable the start up recovery manager on your source disk. Move it to another interface in your PC and connect the new SSD in its place (where it is currently connected). Perform the clone and IMPORTANT - remove the source disk from the system BEFORE starting (Booting) for the first time from the new drive.

If successful, you can re-enable F11.

If this is windows vista, 7 or 8 you can also try booting from windows install media and perform a start up repair.

The error would appear to indicate a problem with your boot manager, or the OS's ability to find the boot partition.
