Acronis 2014 - Drive Image from within Windows 8.1 VS Using Recovery Drive

Thread needs solution

Hi all,
I have Acronis 2014 and have a question.
As far as creating a drive image or drive cloning, which is a better option:

1- Create a drive image/clone from within Windows 8.1
2- Boot using the Recovery CD and create the drive image/clone this way.

Of course, using option 1 above is better seeing that there is no way to access my home network drive through a WiFi connection when using option 2.
While when doing this operation from within Windows, I can see all my home network resources.

The only thing here is, is there any drawback to using option 1?

Thanks.

Greetings,
This is a matter of preference. In both cases you need to use boot media for recovery, a CD, USB stick, etc. Acronis saves in a proprietary (.tib) file format. Windows Back up saves in .xml. Both can restore your PC from catastrophic hard disk failure (Bare Metal Restore).

Just some friendly advice. You should not be using Wi-Fi in ANY of back up solution regardless of the option you choose above.
