Acronis 2014 Recovery CD/USB boots to garbled screen on Dell XPS 12 9Q23

Thread needs solution

Acronis 2014 Recovery CD/USB boots to garbled screen on Dell XPS 12 9Q23 :

I have tried vga=ask and vga=367 for the 1920x1080x32 native resolution.

I will not be upgrading to 2015 until this is resolved as although I get (A) the 256 AES Encryption I seek of a full backup/clone I can no longer (B) do a bare metal Recovery.

I can try with a competitors FREE Alternative admittedly after copying or unencrypting VHDs first from an encrypted container/file on another PC instead... my (A) and (B) requirements then fulfilled!

Happy to continue with Acronis though and test your suggestions and I will wait patiently for your answer and a solution that does indeed work: doptn take too long though as the W10 upgrade is coming and from then my post upgrade backup of W10 will be using one of your competitors ...

Matthew

I guess another important factor is (C) the Backup compression.

It seems to me that the Dell XPS 12 9Q23 doesn't provide any video emulation for wrong, i.e. smaller or alternative video modes in UEFI boot so I guess I should try enabling the legacy BIOS boot mode and see if it and the emulation then works first before I give up on Acronis...

Some of the Alternatives still use WinPE too which I think is more likely to work. No idea if Acronis still provides an alternative WinPE Boot/Recovery CD environment...

Yes Winpe is available http://kb.acronis.com/content/46255
