Acronis 2014 Standard - can it make an image??

Thread needs solution

My second attempt to get an answer to this - OS is Win 7 - Program is Acronis True Image 2014 Standard. I see how I can make a clone of my HD, but I don't see how an image can be made with this program, and I do want to make an image, not a clone.

Checking the Help file, I see the topic "image creation mode" which states that "back up unallocated space" is available only when "back up sector by sector" is chosen. But I don't see those choices in my copy of Acronis. Are they there? Can this program create an image, or is some other version necessary? If the choices "Back up sector by sector" etc are available, where are they in the Aconis program?

Thanks for any help and guidance.

All versions of ATI can create backup images. In ATI terms, an "image" is really the same as a backup, as the backup creates a .tib image.

Thanks. That does help. My real problem was that the Help files don't do anything to explain how to make an image. Since I wrote my original post, I've found a video tutorial which (I think) shows me how to make an image. I'm making one now, but I was unable to make the image disc bootable, as the tutorial indicates I should be able to do. I'll ask about that in another thread.

Thanks again - Bill
