Acronis Backup fails with lock action has been canceled at the end of the backup process

Thread needs solution

Hi all,

I am using Acronis True Image 2014 to backup two Notebooks to an external NAS-Storage on my local network.

On Notebook1 everything is working fine.

But on Notebook2 the creation of a backup fails at the end with the error message: "Lock action has been canceled" (collected from syncagent.log)

<event id="3" level="4" module="423" code="25" human_time="12/09/16 17:14:50" time="1481303690" message="Sperraktion wurde abgebrochen." line_tag="0x795E7E15DFD807CB" >

</event>

I already tried the following:

1. Make sure that the NAS storage device is available and has enough free disk space.
2. Created a new share on the NAS storage device for the backup for Notebook2
3. Changed the permission from the share to "everyone"  to prevent an security problem

But the backup for Notebook2 is still failing... Any ideas how I could solve this problem?

RMP

RMP, welcome to these user forums.

Please look in the Service logs for your backup task for what messages are shown there rather than the Sync Agent logs which should not be relevant to performing a backup action.

What version of Windows are you running ATIH 2014 on for your two notebooks?

Hi Steve,

thanks for your reply.

Both notebooks are installed with Windows 10.

I was not sure which file you mean exactly. I attached the whole log information as attachment to this reply.
Does this information help?

RMP

RMP, thank you for the log files, I just see a very short message sequence in these for your backup tasks.

log uuid= ;  product=True Image;  version=17.0;  build=6673
Start= 09/12/2016 20:08:07
id=1;  level=2;  module=100;  code=0;  date/time=09/12/2016 20:08:07
          message=Die lokalen Laufwerke werden nach Archiven durchsucht...
Start= 09/12/2016 20:08:07
Finish= 09/12/2016 20:08:07
Total Time= 00:00:00

This is shown for both of the service logs and seems as if Acronis cannot find any existing image files?

One potential issue at play here is that ATIH 2014 is not supported for use with Windows 10, though some users do have this working (mainly from upgrading to Windows 10 after 2014 was already installed).
See KB document: 56196: Acronis Products: Windows 10 Support which states:
Support of Windows 10 will not be implemented into older versions of Acronis products (e.g. Acronis True Image 2014 or older, ...

I would suggest deleting the problem task and try creating this again to see if this would help, if you have not already done this.

See KB document: 58004: Acronis True Image 2016: Troubleshooting Issues Related to NAS Credentials - this is written for 2016 but should still apply in principle to 2014 in terms of where these credentials are stored by Acronis so that you can try clearing these and re-entering them in the new task.
