Acronis backup software

Thread needs solution

I purchased acronis software the program also supposedly has a clone feature. I have tried several times to clone my Dell laptop after the program does a restart I get a message. "one or more of your removable disks may not have started at the moment. Click yes to wait for full startup of the devices(recommended) click no to ignore uninitialized devices and continue click cancel to stop the current operation. Do you want to wait for the devices startup" The problem is the portable usb hard drive never starts no matter how many times I click yes to wait. The laptop has a 1tb hard drive the portable drive is a 2tb and is empty except for a backup made with acronis. Does anyone have any help with this problem.
Thanks

To see GPT disk indicaters from inside Windows Disk Management
Click the Menu item "View"
Click option "TOP"
Click option "DISK LIST"
Check the column listing "Partition Style" for a specific listing of GPT or MBR style partitioning.
If GPT, some partitions not displayed in Windows Disk Management but can be seen if Windows DISKPART is used from the command line.
