Acronis boot disc says image backups are corrupted

Thread needs solution

I am having problems with my computer crashing and would like to restore my boot drive to an earlier configuration. Fortunately, I've made regular image backups. Unfortunately, when I try to restore any of them, the Acronis 2009 boot disc says they're all "corrupted". In Windows (7) I can mount the backups using the Acronis utility and see all the files in them, so they aren't "corrupted". Why does the Acronis boot program say they're corrupted when they aren't, and how can I restore one of them?

The 2009 disc will only restrore 2009 and prior backups. Do you have a newer versionh of theTI Recovery CD? You can also download the current triial verson recovery CD without installing the entire package.

The backup was made with the 2009 version of Acronis (installed from the same disk I'm trying to use for restore). I've tried several other methods to restore the file, without success, which I'll outline in another post (titled "Can't restore image file").
