Acronis bootable rescue media freezes

Thread needs solution

Greetings,

I created an Acronis bootable rescue CD with Acronis True Image 2015. Unfortunately the CD freezes shortly after the boot. It remains stuck in the loading screen showing the Acronis logo.

In order to get more information, I edited the kernel command line and removed the 'quiet' flag, and I got the following output:

Using /lib/modules/radeon.ko
[drm] radeon kernel modesetting enabled
fb: switching to radeondrmfb from EFI VGA

Then the system freezes, the cursor stops blinking and the DVD drive stops spinning. I already tried providing all the different command line parameters reported in the user manual, but to no avail.

My laptop is an Asus F555Y equipped with a Radeon R5 M320 GPU and an AMD A6-7310 CPU.

Did anybody experience a similar situation?

Thanks in advance

Enzo, it may be a lack drivers with your graphics card or other hardware in the default Linux bootable recovery media.  You could download Microsoft Windows ADK manually first (look at the bottom of this post in my signature for direct links).  Once installed, you should be able to create Windows PE version of the bootable media to see if that helps at all.

Also, you may want to try differnet media (another burn with a new disc - preferably a different brand as well - some users have reported problems with verbatim discs and verbatim flash drives, but it could really be any brand/model or batch).  If possible, perhaps try creating a USB bootable flash drive and see if that makes any difference.

Also, when you boot your media (disc or usb drive), make sure you are booting it in the same manner as your OS is installed (boot legacy mode for legacy OS install and boot UEFI if you have a UEFI OS install).
